Although the US version has yet to be seen, a disguised prototype made its way to the F.A.T. Ice Race Aspen in Colorado. Unfortunately, it has been confirmed that the six-speed manual gearbox will no longer be an option after the 2024 model year. Volkswagen of America Product Communications Specialist Jerohn Anderson has stated, “I can confirm that the manual transmission will not be available for the Golf GTI and Golf R after MY2024.”
